King James the Savage
Tell us about yourself and your music
I’m a Houston native, and I write all of my own music, I consider myself as an artist, not just a rapper basically because I sing just as well as I rap!
Talk to us more about your latest release
Bow Down was actually a diss track towards someone I know personally.
What inspired you to write this release?
A dude I grew up with had started to diss me on social media for whatever reason, so I approached him through his direct phone number to see was there a problem so that lead to him making posts about killing me, so by me being an artist, I took it out in the studio!
Describe the writing and recording process
Bow down was actually freestyled, and it was my engineer Terrence’s idea to switch between rapping and singing on Bow down.
Any plans to release a video?
As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?
I just continue to create my own lane and be myself and have fun at the same time while doing it.
Who have you been listening to lately?
Lately, I been listening to Mo3, Derez deson, calboy, Lil baby and Da baby.
Who are your biggest influences?
Ti, Master p, Jay z, Diddy, French Montana, and Slim thug.
What else is happening next in your world?
Thanks for an awesome interview, King James the Savage
