Artist Interview: Opera Rock

Tell us about yourself and your music

I am a bass player, I am a story teller. Opera Rock is my project band: I wrote the songs with Leo, a great guitar player and a long time friend of mine. Then we formed out team: singers, players, of course friends. With them we recorded the single Under Starry Skies and the full lenght Starborn.

Talk to us more about your latest release

Starborn is a sci-fi concept album. It tells about the end of a world and the transformation of another. In the album the listener can find love, courage and battles: every singer interprets a character in this ’80s Metal concept album.

 

 

What inspired you to write this release?

Bands like Queensryche, Iron Maiden, Ayreon and Avantasia are our inspiration. We like melodic music and we love to link songs togheter with a topic.

Any plans to release a video?

We already release a lyric video and we are planning to do other videos in the future.

 

 

Any plans to hit the road?

Not yet, but we are working on a new album, so we know how to stay busy!

As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?

Interaction with fans is the key: they can message me anytime and ask everything. Wanna know about my gear? Need lyrics? Need tabs to play a particular riff? Just ask!

Who have you been listening to lately?

I am listening to Rhapsody of Fire a lot: I love this epic italian band, and the reunion with Fabio Lione for the lady tour made me willing to listen their entire discography again!

Tell us about your passions

I am a big fan of tv series and videogames: I like everything with a story behind.

What else is happening next in your world?

I have two or three project I will carry on at the same time: an acustic trio, some bass takes to mix for a friend (I cannot say more!) and of course new Opera Rock songs on the making. It’s intense and cool at the same time!
