Tell us about yourself and your music

I’m a country music guy. Somewhere between traditional and modern. So you can say a little edgy at times.

Talk to us more about your latest release

My latest album, Two of Me, is only a few months old. The current single on the album is Cowboy Groove and it’s spinning on radio, Pandora, Spotify and wherever else it can go. So, Walmart probably has it blasting in their stores now.

What inspired you to write this release?

Cowboy Groove was a great idea from a buddy of mine, Mark Daniel. He gave me the freedom to write and record what I was feeling. This is one of my favs! It’s such a happy tune and the melody is dang catchy.

Describe the writing and recording process

For me, writing comes pretty easy. I typically lay down 3 tunes a week and then revisit them a week or so later to get a fresh ear on it. The recording is just as easy. During a day I record between 3 and 5 tunes. LOVE vocal recording! And I am always trying to perfect it.

Any plans to release a video?

Any plans to hit the road?

I’m always traveling and performing. I play in the United States as well as Europe so I am never bored! I’m a guy that is always on the go. 250 shows a year while traveling is just what I do!

As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?

I just do my own thing and don’t worry about others. I stay true to myself and write honest tunes. I also give out free candy at every show!

Who have you been listening to lately?

Honestly,  myself! Since I am always working I find listening to what I am doing can help better my music. When I have time I’ll listen to some friends. My friends have some talent!!

Who are your biggest influences?

Hal Ketchum is a HUGE influence on my writing and style. Always loved Hal’s use of imagery. He’s one of the best writers!

Brad Paisley is another great influence. His work ethic is just so darn good! Meeting him and performing with him just made me like him more.

Tell us about your passions

I LOVE ice hockey and roller hockey. If I wasn’t a musical artist I would have been a pro hockey player. Well, at least a semi-pro hockey player. Art is another passion. I have been a painter and artist since I was very young. Sometimes music gets in the way though.

What else is happening next in your world?

Traveling more! Italy, Germany, Tennessee,  Texas, Florida and maybe a few exotic places! Other than traveling, my next album comes out in March. Every 6 months I have a new album so my butt is always busy.
