Introducing Stephanie Caprara

Tell us about yourself and your music

I am a singer songwriter from Montreal, Canada. I have been singing and writing songs for about 20 years. My music is a mix of R&B/POP and a little bit of FUNK. Music is my passion. There is nothing more fulfilling and cathartic then expressing myself through melody and lyrics. I live to sing and to create melodic art that touches and brings joy to others.

Talk to us more about your latest release

My latest release, “Do You Feel the Same” was written by myself and artist named, Katlego. It is a fun upbeat love song. Specifically, when you wonder if the person shares the same feelings that you do.

What inspired you to write this release?

My music is generally inspired by life events and people that I meet. This is a song about every guy that I have ever met that has toyed with my emotions and given me mixed signals.

Describe the writing and recording process

Katlego sent me a really cool music track. After listening to it, I was immediately inspired to write the melody and lyrics. I then recorded it at Galante Music Studio in Montreal. It all came together beautifully and quickly. I am proud to have created this song with such a powerful team.

Any plans to release a video?

As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?

It’s very important for me to stay authentic and true to myself. I want to ensure that I am portraying an honest message and image of who I am through my art. We live in a fickle society where we are constantly being bombarded by fake and unattainable goals. As a woman, I am uninterested in being anything but my true self. I want to make sure that I am a positive role model to my young female fans.

Who have you been listening to lately?

Sabrina Claudio, Tori Kelly, and recently discovered Gary Clark Jr.

Who are your biggest influences?

Prince, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston.

Tell us about your passions

Honestly, my world revolves around music. However, my second passion is teaching music. I am proud to pass on the torch to other young artists and creators.

What else is happening next in your world?

I am constantly writing and working on new music. I have a number of projects in the works, from live shows to future releases.
