Up and Coming Hip Hop Artist Big Matt
It's 3:00 in the morning and from his bedroom you can hear Big Matt laying down the rhythm that has been given to him as he slept. He rushes to get it down before it slips from his memory and is lost forever. This is not the first time, nor will it be the last, that he has been awakened from a deep sleep to record beats and lyrics that are revealed to him.
His first big break came when he was placed on Average Joe's Entertainment album called 'MUD DIGGER VOLUME 3' where he performed his original song 'Long Road.' This has given Big Matt some good exposure and his YouTube video has over 100,000 hits and continues to get over 200 hits per day.
His next break came calling when MTV signed a deal to air the reality show 'BUCKWILD' where they licensed 2 of Big Matt's songs, 'Down Home Thang' and 'Fast Cars and Fine Women.' Big Matt was all set for further licensing for season 2 of 'BUCKWILD' but the untimely death of one of the main characters caused MTV to cancel the show.
"I just want people to hear what I have to say and hopefully help them deal with whatever issues they are experiencing in their lives," says Big Matt.
With that goal in mind, Big Matt has written many songs that deal with the loss of a loved one, bullying, country living, God, and just dealing with everyday life. Big Matt's inspirations are Three 6 Mafia; Colt Ford; 2Pac; UGK; Yo Gotti; MJG and Playa Fly. His style is a good mix of hip/hop, country and pop and is delivered in a smooth clear manner that people of all ages are drawn to it and have accepted it in a very positive way.
Although Big Matt has performed at many venues throughout West and Middle Tennessee, Eastern Arkansas and Southeast Missouri, his main focus is writing, recording and mixing his music for sale through digital download distributions such as iTunes, Amazon and CDBaby.
