"Life Goes On" Music Video Chosen as an Official Selection at the Idyllwild Festival of Cinema
"Life Goes On," the first release from Lily’s debut album Life Of Lily, has been chosen as an Official Selection at the Idyllwild Festival of Cinema, competing for the award of Best Music Video.
Modern Visionaries states “The new video, which accents the bluegrass / country appeal of the song, is split in time. Like a split decision, one line of reality turns sour and leaves you on the side of the road while the other thread leaves you basking in the sun with the one you love. Lily doesn’t take sides but proposes a solution by way of attitude adjustment. Isn’t it so much easier and quicker to listen to a song then have to read another self-help book?”
Lily’s voice conjures up Juliana Hatfield and other MTV Hit Makers from the 1990’s. Though her folk pop would feel right at home with the Reality Bites milieu, Lily retains her English charm and like another well-known Brit with the same first name, sings in a Cockney accent over retro productions sweetened with the layering of 50’s girl group harmonies.
"Life Goes On," the first single to be released from the album, is a reminder to forget the little things that can get you down. Lily’s songs have a palate cleansing optimism, making for an ideal mood enhancer on those less than spectacular days.
BandGurus advises "Definitely keep an eye on this rising star".
