The Doktor Is In!
It should not be surprising at all that Doktor Rokit has released an album. Actually, most would ask what took him so long.
From the age of 3 it was very apparent that the Dr. Had music in his blood. Always singing, dancing and having a great time, he was an entertainer for sure. Then in 1985 when he heard Eddie Van Halen play guitar for the first time, he was totally hooked. Buying his first guitar and teaching himself to play, his love for music just continued to grow bigger and bigger. After learning to play the guitar, he decided to buy a bass and teach himself to play that. Then he bought a drum set and then a keyboard, teaching himself to play each instrument respectively. He never took a single lesson and never learned to read music but just kept listening to all different styles of music and teaching himself to play what he heard.
His influences are very vast with the likes of Prince, Van Halen, Metallica, Billy Joel, Supertramp, Motown, The Isley Brothers, Otis Redding, The Four Tops, Cameo, The O’Jays, Twisted Sister, The Bee Gees, Foreigner and on and on. It’s no wonder that his sound is both familiar and unique all at the same time.
One thing is definitely certain - if you listen to Doktor Rokit, you will have fun, you will dance, you will laugh and you will have a great time. If you’re feeling a little down or just want to escape to a fun happy place then “Tear The Roof Off” is just what the Doktor ordered.
