Tell us about yourself and your music

Studio based singer/ songwriter/producer. Enjoying my time recording experimenting with sounds/vocals. My tastes are broad I love all genres and styles. My music comes from my heart. Spent a lot of time playing/ singing in clubs and bars in the UK, now I prefer to be in my studio. My music varies from emotional ballads to funky dance vibes and if you listen to some of them they can be a bit tongue in cheek !!! An element of suggestion xxx

The track Complicated Suicide is dark, emotional, thought-provoking. It should make you feel like you want to help, to reach out and take care of these unfortunate people.

What inspired you to write this release?

A story I wrote about a young couple, both addicts they had two young children. The mother overdosed leaving the father alone with the children, and unable to cope with the grief and addiction decides there is only one option. Sadly it too much for him to take, the responsibility of the children’s welfare is unbearable … the conclusion is in the lyrics.  The outcome has to be a message of positivity,  you are never alone there is always hope and help if you reach out. Although the track views certain circumstances the Suicide Rate in Young Males is horrendous. We should be offering sympathy, hope, inspiration, love to anyone who is suffering from mental health issues, Female and Male.

Describe the writing and recording process

This story has been with me a few years now, part fact part fiction, the lyrics came very quickly, the music just fell into place. From the start of the recording ( Ableton 10 Live ) to the final mix and mastering and release ( Landr ) took me approx about four weeks. All music and vocals were recorded in my home studio using Loopcloud / Arcade / Ableton. Its been a bit of an emotional roller coaster I tried to use the line ” Bring him home ” from Les Miserables but never heard back about the license so I removed it.

Any plans to release a video?

Any plans to hit the road?

Sorry, not at the moment I seem to spend most of my time recording so I am really a studio based singer/songwriter/producer. But i have no objections putting a band like Enigma / Daft Punk .. maybe a dance troupe to take the music out. there is enough music for a very decent set. Is anyone interested ????

As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?

Ashanwarrior is an entity, an enigma, a mystical,  all-encompassing, compassionate ethereal being. Who will be with you always, to comfort and protect,  hear your fear, and help you find a way through?

In a time where there is a lot of uncertainty and negativity, look to find the goodness and generosity in people, in the hope we can all take better care of the world and each other.

Finishing a track that I am very happy about, hope to release within the next month and who knows what is about to unfold in this crazy unpredictable nuttiness that is life Peace&Lovexxxx
