The Royal Noise: High Energy East Coast Funk

Roaring out of Philadelphia is The Royal Noise, one of the Northeast’s hottest up and coming bands riding high on a wave of groovy jazz-funk that’s ready to sweep across the across the country. While ferociously touring in support of their sophomore release Unbreakable, the band continues to prepare for another follow-up album in 2014 which promises to be their most adventurous and captivating effort to date.

the royal noiseCombining elements of jazz, funk and rock, The Royal Noise ebbs and flows throughout each song, working from a foundation arrangement, then allowing each of their four members to steer the music with their own unique contributions. Chock full of spellbinding jam sessions, searing guitar solos and spacey keys, Unbreakable takes the listener on an 11-track amusement park ride of an album that keeps them guessing at each and every turn while drawing comparisons to Galactic, Lettuce, Soulive and others.

Brian Robbins of JamBands.com was one of many writers to laude the band, saying “Unbreakable finds the band even tighter, more eclectic (it’s true), and completely in control of the powerful sound they generate. The bottom line: believe it or not, they just keep getting better.”

Known for their tireless schedule and seemingly endless list of performance dates, the band’s current tour sees them cruising from Philly to Daytona Beach to promote Unbreakable. Night in and night out this Pennsylvanian quartet will demonstrate their chops in front of audiences along the East coast, leaving their mark on each stage they set foot on.

The Royal Noise was founded by guitarist and lead songwriter Johan Harvey in 2010 and released their debut album Keep On Moving in 2012. Joined by Mike LaBombard on saxophone and keys, Rodrigo Pichardo on bass and percussionist Andrew Toy, the group’s songwriting process has evolved into a joint-creative process, allowing each member to craft their own arrangements while allowing the band to grow and mature with each song.

Unbreakable is available on iTunes, Amazon and other digital retailers now. Check out streaming audio and tour dates on The Royal Noise’s official website, connect with them on Facebook or Twitter for all the latest info and keep your eyes peeled for their third album in 2014.
