Swingin' Jewels Release New CD 'End the Rough'

Rockin’, rollin’ and steeped in the proud tradition of original New Orleans music is Swingin’ Jewels, getting feet on the dance floor and hands in the air everywhere they appear. Founded by a foursome of seasoned music industry vets, the group is riding high after the release of their latest effort, End the Rough.

swinginjewelsSelf-described as “some local New Orleans boys who [like] to play and write songs for the beautiful people of the world,” Swingin’ Jewels made a splash throughout The Crescent City after dropping End the Rough in 2013. Featuring 9 tracks of authentic, inspired rock in the vein of the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty and John Lennon, the album takes listeners on a musical journey filled with catchy rhythms and lyrics demanding of a sing-along.

Swingin’ Jewels continues to gig around the New Orleans area in support of the new record, hitting the bars and clubs to share their music with natives and visitors alike. A trio of songs off End the Rough, “Why,” “Hide My Pain” and “Marilyn Monroe,” have also hit Jango Radio along with occasional airplay on some of the city’s best rock-n-roll radio stations.

With the album just hitting its stride and the band busier than ever, they’ve still found time to work on new material – including a tribute to the city’s most beloved sports franchise, the New Orleans Saints. Now with the football season in full swing, expect Swingin’ Jewels to break out their latest cut when the home team needs it most.

Swingin’ Jewels were founded by four New Orleans natives; Charlie Cuccia (lead guitar/vocals), Jeff Hicks Jr. (drums/vocals), Thomas McDonald (bass/vocals) and James Nave Jr. (guitar/vocals). After spending time in groups such as TQ and The Topcats, Da Meat Department and The Rough Inz, the group came together to get back to their true Louisiana rock-n-roll roots, resulting in End the Rough.

End the Rough is available for purchase now through digital retailers such as Amazon and CD Baby, with streaming audio available on their official Jango Radio page. Look for more music and shows throughout New Orleans soon as the band continues to support the new album.
