Who is Lost Dogg?

Who is Lost Dogg?

Tell us about yourself and your music

Lost Dogg- One who has seen and survived murder and mayhem living in New Orleans. I’ve “lost” many of my “doggs” due to gun violence. I was educated in the school of a hard life. Now wiser my music seeks to enlighten the youth from an inside perspective. I like to call it Protest Music! You will walk away from a Lost Dogg song a little smarter on various subjects. I cover everything from politics to street ethics and even love!

Talk to us more about your latest release

My latest release is called “Used To Be”. This song highlights gentrification in the inner cities U.S.A! I wrote this song to stimulate black people’s dialogue, on ways to counter the growing epidemic. The video is set in New Orleans where gentrification is face front. It is produced by DJ Ron of 2Infinity Records and Donald XL Robertson of XL Productionz!

What inspired you to write this release?

Seeing my old neighbors not being able to buy or rent a home where we grew up inspired “Used To Be”! It was humbling to see folks who once owned property in “New” Orleans not be able to afford to live here anymore due to high property taxes also.

Describe the writing and recording process

I usually let the music speak. I call it  “inspired writing” some bars I take no credit for. I speak for something greater than myself! I’m amazed sometimes when I read back what I wrote. God? The Universe? Whatever it is, it’s powerful! It calling! I record in the comfort of my bedroom. Lol but true! I incorporate all the latest programs on my MacBook Pro. To give my music that polished sound synonymous to  Lost Dogg, I hit up Donald XL Robertson aka XL.  Many in the industry rely on XL for all their mixing and mastering needs!

Any plans to release a video?

Any plans to hit the road?

Will be hitting the road soon after the release of Land Of The Lost!

As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?

Yes. Branding is very important to anyone wishing to sell anything! The LDE logo has been printed on T-shirts, mugs, pens, etc.. Quality music is one trait of Lost Dogg Entertainment. We pride ourselves on producing top quality music with a real message!

Who have you been listening to lately?

Lately, I listen to myself ironically, but I mix in Nipsey Hussle and  3D Natee.

Who are your biggest influences?

My biggest influencers are Tupac, Jay Z, Soulja Slim, 8ball and MJG, the list is too long to complete here. I’m a real student of the Rap Game.

Tell us about your passions

My passion is deeply seeded in the belief that heaven is here on earth, for some! Seeking equality is the reason I get up every morning. My kids have to live in a better world that I will have helped create! Until the world is free or I’m free of the world, I will pursue this goal!

What else is happening next in your world?

NEW ALBUM !! July 10, 2020.
