Tell us about yourself and your music

Extaza was formed by Dragisa Elez and Slavko from Serbia as a project back in 2009 to help them learn how to make music and “make it” in the music business. Dragisa found singer Andrew David Gaudette singing karaoke at Ellis Island Brewery in Las Vegas and asked if he can lay down a few tracks for his Extaza project. A few tracks turned into two albums which have been played worldwide on jango.com and Spotify.com along with other music outlets through CDBaby distribution!

Talk to us more about your latest release

Age of Time, the latest release from Extaza, is a journey in which all of us faced while being apart for over 10 years as a band. Andrew David Gaudette acquired tongue cancer, and Dragisa had his issues along with Slavko. “Timeless” the first release from Extaza is currently being played on jango.com which is a personal song written by Dragisa Elez and James Mackin about suicide. “Heavenly” a song written by Andrew David Gaudette about his journey with his cancer. Other tracks such as “She Said” are being played on Jango.com which speaks about abuse. Age of Time should be listened to in its entirety as it takes through a journey of feelings we all tend to have but are afraid to speak openly about them.

What inspired you to write this release?

Age of Time is the third effort from Extaza after 10 years and with everything we have going on in our world today another Extaza album was due.  Dragisa Elez wrote some material and once again asked Andrew David Gaudette for vocals.  Dragisa Elez and James Mackin co-wrote “Timeless” which was the first release of the new album in which Andrew David Gaudette provided the vocals.  Other powerful tracks called “She Said”, a song about abuse, and “Heavenly”, a song written about his journey with his cancer.

Describe the writing and recording process

Age of Time was written in two different states Nevada and Florida.   Timeless Studios in Las Vegas Nevada provides all the music, guitars, keys, riffs, backing vocals, backing tracks, and mastering for each project.  The main vocals are provided by ADGMUSIC COMPANY in Orlando Florida from Andrew David Gaudette.  Age of Time is an album driven by our issues we all faced within the last 10 years.  Songs were written about dark issues such as cancer and suicide along with abuse.  The age of Time was written as a musical journey from the beginning to the end.

Any plans to hit the road?

Extaza would like to promote their album on tour but due to the COVID pandemic and the cancer treatments for Andrew David Gaudette, it is not possible at this time.  Maybe in 2021 when the Nation as a whole is healed.

As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?

We are different and hail from different parts of the world.  Dragisa Elez and Slavko ate from Serbia with tastes in Electronic and Dub music while Andrew David Gaudette is a metal/rock singer from the United States.  With our infusion of electronic music with metal vocals, it creates a different sound that works.  Intrigued?

Who have you been listening to lately?

Andrew David Gaudette listens to different artists including Queensryche,  Dio, Judas Priest, as well as Rammstein and KMFDM to name a few.  Dragisa likes Skazi, electronica/dub, Nine Inch Nails, Avenged Sevenfold,  and Marilyn Manson.  Slavko is involved in dub/electronica/dance music.

Who are your biggest influences?

Queensryche is the main inspiration since Andrew David Gaudette tends to sound like Geoff Tate when singing.  Other major influences were Ronnie James Dio and Rammstein.  Dragisa and Slavko have inspirations from Skazi to Marilyn Manson as well as electronic DJ music.

Tell us about your passions

Currently, our passions include making Age of Time as popular as possible while battling cancer and writing new material for the next album.  Dragisa has his 3 son’s which are his life and passion.  Slavko also has a child in which he dedicates a lot of his time.

What else is happening next in your world?

Andrew David Gaudette is trying to defeat his tongue cancer through radiation treatments before 2021 so he can schedule shows with Dragisa to promote the new album.  Dragisa is a soccer coach with his sons in Las Vegas Nevada, finally, Slavko is a working father supporting his child.
