Jesus Ayala Jr. Leads Post-Punk Revival in 2020 with Chance and Self-Titled Debut EP
Chicago, IL — Sunday, June 14th, 2020 — Chance – Releasing June 26th (linked)
Jesus Ayala Jr. makes his official solo debut with a 2-minute, guitar-driven take on star-crossed lovers. This vivacious and optimistic track, with no bridge or solo, is a nod to The Vaccines and The Ramones. Dance driven drums and bass lay the groundwork for what could have been this summer’s dance, rock tune. A catchy chorus where Ayala Jr. asks “Is your dad alright?” perfectly encapsulates the youthful and rebellious spirit of the early 2000’s that he is wanting to relive in 2020. Chance is a taste of what we can expect from Self-Titled Debut EP from Jesus Ayala Jr. this summer. Chance will be released on all music platforms on June 26th, 2020.
Jesus Ayala Jr., hailing from Chicago, armed with an American White Fender Stratocaster aims to relive the glory days of early-2000’s Garage Rock/Indie Rock/Post-Punk Revival era. His music is in the same vein as that from The Strokes, The Killers, The Vaccines, Weezer, and Arctic Monkeys. “I’m nostalgic for the nights that people went out to smoke cigarettes, drink cheap beer, and listen to rock bands. The scene changed on me when I was old enough to go out, so I hope we can recreate that” Ayala Jr. stated.
Jesus Ayala Jr. is no stranger to indie-rock anthems, having performed with bands The Charters and The Fevertones. The Charters won the Hollywood Songwriting Contest for ‘It’s a Lonely Christmas’ and performed two sold-out shows at their height in Chicago. The Fevertones has also performed countless festivals and been described “as the love child of Cold War Kids and Led Zeppelin” by bloggers. Ayala Jr has also quietly released an acoustic solo project, Acoustic Reflections EP, that sparked his interest in a solo career. “You can’t let songs collect dust while you wait for the right time or band, which is why I started releasing music on my own” he stated. “You also can’t wait too long to cover Britney Spears” he added.
Chance will be released on June 26th on all music platforms. Chance was also remixed by Chicago Producer BattleBound, and that remix will be released as the B-side on June 26th. A portion of all streaming and sales revenue will be donated to the Color of Change to support racial justice.
Self-Titled Debut EP will feature four, guitar-driven songs, including Chance. It will cover topics like ambiguous love triangles and creepy high school principals. Releasing July 2020
