Brekbred Breaks Out With an RnB Hip Hop Album
Brekbred (aka Kenneth Meekins) is a native of Richmond, Virginia. At a
very young age, he was already a lover of music, and he quickly found
himself singing gospel tunes. With the influence of his father,
well-known and respected local gospel musician, Charlie Benjamin Jr., he
joined several church choirs and R&B groups. But another type of
music spoke to him - hip-hop. When Brekbred was eight years old, he
started developing his songwriting and music skills and it was obvious
that the next step was to pursue a music career. His family and friends
backed him up and as his confidence grew, he performed in local and
state talent shows in Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, and New York.
With his background in gospel mixed in with smooth R&B and gritty hip-hop, Brekbred's sound has been dubbed as original and refreshing by some of the music industry's best and brightest. His parents helped him in making his dream come true and for a while, he had the backing of a management team. However, that transaction went sour, but no matter, Brekbred was never fazed. A minor setback did not affect his confidence and he is adamant that he will be a music force to be reckoned with. Watch out for Brekbred.
