Chase Davis to Release New Hip Hop Mixtape
With two releases and a host of live performances under his belt, Bridgeport, Connecticut’s Chase Davis is ready to unleash his latest hip hop triumph this summer. Slated for an August 5, 2013 release, I Swear to God I’ll Be Rich is the up and comer’s third album and newest mixtape in a series of increasingly innovative and impressive achievements.
Despite becoming one of the more active and determined artists in the current independent Bridgeport scene, Davis originally had no intention of becoming a rapper. While growing up on soul, rock and other classic genres, he wasn’t exposed to hip hop until hearing Redman, Wu Tang Clan, Notorious BIG and Craig Mack in high school.
It was love at first sight – Davis dove headfirst into the great artists of today and yesterday, immersing himself in the culture while freestyling with friends on the weekend, committing to the pen and the pad. By 2008, his debut Chase Davis is ‘Davis ‘68’ was released and distributed through Amalgam Digital, garnering national attention and landing him a spot with RKM Management.
Following performances throughout the Northeast over the next two years, Davis left RKM in 2010 to work on his next release, The Fast Life. Featuring fellow artists such as Connie Freelove, Mitchbeatz, Mystery Webb and Weezer Rascal as well as producing from Eurostarz, Mitchbeatz, Kajmir Royale, Bravestarr, and Lead Alliance Music Group, this took his soul-infused rap to an entirely new level.
2013 sees Davis back in the studio again to record and produce I Swear to God I’ll Be Rich, a slick, sexy hip hop snapshot of the fast life filled with excess, bravado and swagger. Determined to carve out his own niche as an alternative hip hop artist driven by innovation, experimentation and musical versatility, this aims to be his most ambitious and groundbreaking release to date.
