Alex Fedorov’s Progressive Instrumental Vision
From Los Angeles via Russia is the West coast’s next up and
coming guitar prodigy, session musician and indie artist, Alex Fedorov. Already
making his mark on the local Echo Park music scene, this self-taught
songwriter/producer/composer is aiming to deliver his unique brand of eclectic
ambient rock to the masses with a thoughtful, experimental approach. While
serving as a valuable asset to the East LA recording community, Fedorov is
almost ready to unveil his debut album, Ahead
of Time.
Electricity courses through the veins of Fedorov’s music
from the opening seconds to the final crescendos of each and every song,
trapping the listener in a near genre-less experience. Without the aid of
formal training or lessons, he displays the songwriting sensibilities and
technical guitar skills of a seasoned professional, featuring a variety of
styles throughout his ballooning musical catalog. With dozens of unique songs
already in his arsenal, he set out to build his inaugural release for a launch
sometime in 2013.
Fedorov spent most of 2012 tirelessly working on Ahead of Time, which will feature a
prime choice of cuts from his vast instrumental collection. While he remains
the sole writer/composer on most tracks, the record will also contain acoustic drumming
from his brother Sergey, who records and collaborates overseas in Russia with engineer
Ivan Zavalkin.
He’s already begun prepping audiences from LA to Russia with
a handful of singles, including “Last Forever,” which caught some attention from
online music blog Aerial Noise.
“A refreshing advancement of the established post-rock
premise, self-taught guitar prodigy Alex Fedorov’s nuanced, polished sound
offers an alluring modernity, while still retaining a depth and complexity
reminiscent of The Album Leaf or Mogwai. Fedorov seamlessly weaves elements of
Heavy Metal, Ambient, Trance, and Classical to craft a signature sound that
transcends genre lines, and appeals to a vast array of tastes,” said Jon of Aerial Noise.
Combining influences from legends such as Joe Satriani,
Armin Van Buuren and Allure, while stamping his own musical insignia on each
track, Fedorov is poised to make headlines with Ahead of Time. Over 30 free tracks are available to steam on his
official website and ReverbNation pages, as well as Federov’s app available on
iPhone or Android. Look for live performances throughout LA at venues such as
The Viper Room, Skinny’s Lounge and Infusion Lounge, while staying up to date
on the latest news via his official Facebook or Twitter pages.
