Daishia O’Loughlin is Born to Fly

With a lifelong history steeped in deep musical tradition, faith, poetry and songwriting, a new R&B songstress is announcing her arrival onto the main stage. Introducing Daishia O’Loughlin; an independent singer-songwriter, model and former choir singer hailing from Central Florida. With a lifetime of influences and experiences at the age of 20, this up and comer is ready to leave her mark on the scene with a trio of singles and an upcoming full-length record.
At age 7, Daishia started singing in her church choir, eventually putting pen to paper and writing her first songs and poems by the time she was 10 years old. Influenced by a variety of jazz, R&B, pop and gospel artists, she began to find her voice, drawing deep from contemporary artists such as Alicia Keys, Destiny’s Child, Kanye West, Beyonce and others.

After enlisting in the Army National Guard while attending the University of South Florida in March 2012, she performed the National Anthem in front of thousands of fans during a Tampa Rays baseball game the following July. Now armed with a library of songs and an ironclad set of values and beliefs, she started recording music for the inevitable release of her first mixtape to introduce her expressive personality to audiences across the country.
Driven by lyrics dedicated to women’s empowerment, self-confidence and love, Daishia’s first crop of sultry, soulful songs is an immediate call to action for fans of R&B, pop and hip hop. Another batch of singles will lead the charge, including “My Life,” “Every Time I Wake Up,” and “Made Me Who I Am,” bringing her even closer to making her dreams a reality.
Reviewers have described Daishia’s voice as “incredible and very talented,” “beautiful” and “strong and uplifting,” following the single release of “My Life” in February. As the people continue to catch on, her pen keeps moving, inking the next R&B anthem which will rocket her to the top of the charts.
“My Life” is available now for purchase through digital retailers such as iTunes or eMusic, with streaming audio available on Daishia’s SoundCloud and ReverbNation pages. Other plans include starting a duo group, The Light, with her best friend Helen Blondel, as well as an upcoming performance at The Orpheum in Ybor City in Tampa. Connect with her on Facebook or Twitter and keep your eyes peeled for the upcoming release of her latest singles, “Legacy” and “Felicity.”
