Sasha Carvalho: "3 Songs from Studio 4"
Sasha is a 19-year-old college student that has something to sing
about and share with the world. Along with her natural charm Sasha is a
talented young lady that has an incredible performance range which
reveals her inner beauty with guts and soul at the same time.
Sasha has finished up her debut recording at “Studio 4” in the Philadelphia area. Working with multi-award and Grammy winning engineer/producer Phil Nicolo (one half of the music industry famed “Butcher Brothers” winner of 7 Grammy's between the two). Also Robert “Bob” Ferry (one of NYC area's most versatile guitarist , arranger and orchestra leaders) and music producer Mitchell Alan Godwin.
With an original voice inspired by her Trinidadian roots, Sasha sings her songs of unrequited and lost love on the EP, “3 Songs From Studio 4”. Singing with beautiful soulful phrasings and power belts, Sasha's voice drives the rhythms of the breezy pop songs “I Would “(Phoenix to Calcutta), “I'll Know” and the power ballad “Come Back Home.”
Sasha first memories of music come from her Trinidadian masman grandfather playing Calypso and Soca to her as a child and her singing Opera at the age of four when her grandparents would have family functions. Although, music was a source of enjoyment and bonding with her family Sasha never thought to sing outside of her family, until her first-grade chorus teacher recommended she audition for Coestte in the musical Les Misérables. Although, Sasha did not receive the part of Cosette, this experience heightened her passion for the arts, musicals, and singing as a whole.
Her family then further cultivated this passion by encouraging her to explore her musical side, while exposing her to different genres of music. Sasha has been playing the violin since third grade and within the last few years she has begun to play the piano and guitar. Her vocal inspirations are Céline Dion, Whitney Houston, and Mariah Carey. Listening to these three musical sensations has driven Sasha to develop her own one of a kind voice.
Sasha's powerful voice has sung the National Anthem at sporting events in her middle school and high school career, while also participating in various musicals. These musicals include playing Sandy in Grease; Dina in School House of Rock, Lady Marmalade in Disco Inferno and one of the Nuns in The Sound of Music.
Sasha is going into her junior year at Ursinus College. When she is not doing research and studying you can find her with her music. Sasha currently serves as Vice President of the Gospel Choir and Treasurer of the UC B’Naturals, a pop singing group on campus.
Stay tuned - for this young performer should be finding her way into the hearts of music lovers around the world. She has all the natural talent to climb to the top of the Pop music world. Listen to Sasha's music and her voice and you will know why.
