Growing up as a Run DMC-obsessed kid, Loc Da Realist immersed himself in the history of hip hop from the ripe young age of 5, spinning King of Rock on repeat and starting to craft his own rhymes while still in grade school. Influenced by greats such as Tupac, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Notorious B.I.G., Nas and others, he learned from some of the genre’s true legends while practicing, writing and honing his flow.
By 2006, Loc hit the national market following the Freestyle 59 competition as one of VH1’s Top 5 Unsigned Lyricists in the Nation, which was also announced on national TV during The Hip Hop Honors Awards. A collaboration single, “Real Talk” was also picked up by Sirius’ Shade 45 station in 2007, generating national radio buzz while landing in the Billboard Top 40 charts.

Fast forward a couple years and Loc is now one of the mainstays in the Minnesota hip hop scene with weekly bookings and opening gigs for major artists such as Twista, Pretty Ricky, Nappy Roots, Layzie Bone (Bone Thugs-N-Harmony), Project Pat (3 Six Mafia), Obie Trice and more.

With the debut of R.O.A.R. (Resurrection of All Real) on March 16, 2013, Loc is ready to claim the national spotlight and attention he commands, thanks to an infectious, unique style and one of the best supporting casts in the local scene. Produced by Mike Wood of Thawed Out Productions and mixed/mastered by Super Dave of Studio 6401, the album also features hip hop legend Bizzy Bone (Grizzly Adams) and Layzie Bone (Running Circles) alongside top up and comers from Minnesota, New Jersey, Texas and Mississippi.

The campaign kicks off on March 27 with an album release tour throughout the Midwest, starting in Mankato, Minnesota with Redman, followed by dates on Bone Thugs-N-Harmony’s Rock the Bells Tour in Indianapolis and Chicago. R.O.A.R. (Resurrection of All Real) is available through major digital retailers now, with streaming audio and videos available via his official Jango Radio, YouTube and MySpace pages.
