Igniting his young career over 8 years ago, Doc Battle started writing and producing music with friends in Washington, DC while still in high school. Influenced by innovative hip hop artists such as MF Doom, Madlib, J Dilla and 9th Wonder, he dove deep into the pool of underground rap, learning to ink meaningful verses set to captivating beats. By 2009, he was ready to unveil his debut solo album Starvin Artists Vol. 1, an 18-track opus inspired by a DC lifestyle blog and driven by his passion for music, sampling and writing.

Fast forward to 2013, and Doc Battle has racked up dozens of songs in the studio, collaborating with local artists and producers to generate a unique sound which incorporates true underground hip hop flavor with the grit and honesty of his hometown. Striving to spread his music from coast to coast, he made 75 tracks spanning six albums available online via http://docbattle.bandcamp.com for free streaming and download.
Back in the studio and working harder than ever, A Beautiful Moth is the Doc’s latest and greatest project to date, as he pens the next exciting chapter in his eclectic and fascinating hip hop career. Due out in April, early cuts from the record are already starting to surface on his Sound Cloud and Jango Radio pages, which continue to rack up hits as the days fly by.
