Ragers Debut Amnesia EP
Cleveland, Ohio’s Ragers are a new band that have hit the ground
running. This hard-hitting quartet has already played their hometown’s
top clubs, biggest events and festivals. Now they’re hitting the road to
share what they’ve got with the rest of the world, showcasing at the
Dewey Beach Music Conference in Delaware and opening a series of dates
with Jesse Smith and the Holy Ghost. They’ll be bringing their
just-finished six-track debut CD, the "Amnesia EP".
Ragers may be new, but the members bring a range of experience to the band. "I wanted to go back to my roots — straightforward two-guitar-bass-and-drums rock" says lead vocalist/songwriter Brandon Zano. He called lead guitarist Matt Jauch whom he’d known for 15 years, drummer Stephen Nicholson who he played together with in numerous bands, mostly prominently the electro-rock band "This Is a Shakedown" and bassist Caitlin Dorney who met Brandon when she interned for This Is a Shakedown’s former label.
Together the group delved into the songs that Brandon was writing — propulsive tunes like “The Devil Inside of Me” and “Blood on the Dance Floor” whose giddy, pulsing grooves evoke elements of neo-psychedelic rock groups like the Cult, Mother Love Bone, and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.
“We’re fans of bands who write good songs that stick in your head, songs that are driving and grooving and a little dangerous,” says Brandon. "We do a lot of things where the guitars will pull out and give the groove a chance to happen".
The band’s ready to work hard to take advantage of any opportunities that come their way. They’re feeling good about how quickly Ragers has jelled.
