Dr. John E. Bell Releases Sophomore Album

Musician, singer, author, doctor, father. Is there anything Dr. John E. Bell can’t do? This surgical podiatrist by day, turned R&B-soul singer by night is continuing to broaden his horizons, this time preparing the release of his sophomore record, Dating Again. Serving as the follow up to his 2011 debut, Soul to Soul, this latest foray into the R&B scene sees Dr. Bell taking impressive musical risks while delivering relatable, honest songs chock-full of emotion and passion.

Dr. Bell’s deep roots in music began at a young age, starting with participating in the church choir and eventually performing in talent shows as a teenager. Dramatically influenced by some of the most iconic soul and R&B singers of all time, he drew from legends such as Al Green, Luther Vandross, Prince, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gay, Stevie Wonder and many more while guiding himself throughout a musical journey. As if fulfilling his own destiny, Bell started penning his own songs professionally in 2008 and recorded his first four-song EP the following year at Young Ave Studios in Memphis, Tennessee.

After finally experiencing the thrill of cutting his first record, an inspired and enthusiastic Bell hit the studio again in 2009 to record his debut full-length, Soul to Soul at the iconic Royal Studios in Memphis, founded by the late Willie Mitchell (producer for Al Green). The release quickly launched a series of performances including dates at the famous Levitt-Shell Theater and Daisy Theater, as well as a pair of overseas shows in London and Amsterdam.

Determined to top himself once again, Bell released his follow-up record Dating Again in summer 2012, featuring the smash single “All I Want,” which has reached the #4 position on college radio charts. A professional music video also hit YouTube in August, quickly racking up nearly 20,000 views in just a couple months’ time. With silky smooth beats and Bell’s near perfect vocal tone, each of the ten tracks weaves a thoughtful, memorable story filled with love, positivity and faith.

More tracks from Dating Again are slated to hit college and internet radio channels shortly, and fans should keep their eyes peeled for upcoming performances in Memphis as well as out of town dates in Dallas and Nashville. Both albums are available for purchase via iTunes, CD Baby and Bell’s official website, which also features streaming audio and a number of music videos for his previous singles. Whether you’re a fan of the classic Motown artists or modern urban soul, Dr. John E. Bell is the next artist to add to your playlist.
