Tell us about yourself and your music

My name is Kevin, my stage name is KayDee(912) I’m from Effingham County GA. I also lived in Savannah GA for some years. I enjoy writing and recording songs of my genre and I’ve done shows, radio interviews, and movie cameos.

Talk to us more about your latest release

I have a few new releases that I haven’t released yet with a few big names like Boosie badass, Juicy J and more on this new project I’m working on. Stay tuned

What inspired you to write this release?

What inspired me the most is to prove my doubters and people who looked over me and my success and most importantly the ones who believe in me pushing me and opening up doors to make a lot of this happen “I appreciate them so many words can’t explain” with honor, thank you so much.

Describe the writing and recording process

I spend my time writing what I live, real radio for sure. I spend time writing and making sure my music sounds the way I want. Then I get into a studio and start my recording process.

Any plans to hit the road?

I haven’t recorded in a while so I haven’t had any dates set yet but I believe that this new project gonna change things real soon.

As an indie artist, how do you brand yourself and your music to stand out from the rest of the artists out there?

I brand myself through music, being authentic. I have my own sound as an artist. I’ve brought t-shirts, flyers to fans when I’m performing. I also use stage banners too!

Who have you been listening to lately?

I’ve been listening to different kinds of music but lately, I’ve been listening to “a sort of” laid back type of rap music from Houston artists some known, some not known with almost similar sounds of my own but it doesn’t take away nor alter my God gifted talents.

Who are your biggest influences?

My biggest influences were the Rap/Hip-hop scenes of the late ’80s and early ’90s. I loved everything about Rap/Hip-hop growing up from break dancing, money, gold chains, cars, I loved it all. I know you’re waiting for one named artist and I must say Tupac Shakur but I also can see myself rocking the braids and perm back then from Snoop Dogg and the grill from Trick Daddy.

Tell us about your passions

Music is a passion of mine because it’s a great way for me to send a message to people through my music hoping for them to listen because it gives me a platform for me to let them know how I feel rather if they made me mad, done me wrong, or even if they made me feel good. It’s just another outlet other than screaming and fighting at them. I like to feel sane.

What else is happening next in your world?

Everything we talked about in this interview. Being successful and living a great life, drama free. A perfect world, I know right!
