Austin’s Indie Rock Duo The Stickies Announce Debut Album Release

The Stickies, one of Austin’s newest break-out bands, is pleased to announce their debut album release, Stick Em’ Up, which will be available February 23, 2013, on Itunes, Amazon, and the Band’s Official Site. Filled with catchy choruses, haunting vocal melodies, and soaring guitar solos, Stick Em’ Up is a meaty culmination of The Stickies biggest influences: The Beatles and Muse.

Already selected to play The Austin Marathon and SXSW, band members Nicky Holiday and Angelo Bachicha vowed to get their album out faster than “the flash could make a sandwich,” which meant visiting alternative, yet legal, avenues to acquire money. For The Stickies, this was giving plasma at Biolife in Austin, Tx. “We give as much plasma as we can,” declares Angelo, “not just for the money, which is nice, but also because our plasma helps save lives.” Indeed, giving plasma, which consists of a machine that draws out blood from your arm, separates the plasma from it, and returns the blood for around 45 min, helps treat serious disorders like immune system deficiencies and also victims of shock and burns. Although a slightly painful process, according to Holiday, “I don’t mind it…actually, some of my best songs are written while giving plasma.”
