"Chinese Food" video by Go Fucking Psycho! Little. Yellow. Different.
Go Fucking Psycho, or GFP, is a deranged #psychorock trio hailing from Queens, New York. Originally started in 1998 as mere teenagers, the band took a 15 year hiatus (broke up), but reunited just in time to serve you up the latest dish of Stir-Fried Beef Chow Fun!
“Chinese Food” began life as one of frontman Vinny Blanda’s adolescent fixations - who could find fault fault his unrelenting yen for Chinese takeout? Surely not Messrs. Daniel Plainview and Sweeney McBastard, as they swiftly set to work, translating Vinny’s enthusiastic take on far-eastern cuisine into a piece of music.
That wasn’t enough for Mr. McBastard, though. With absolutely no budget and no guarantee of Blanda’s involvement, he directed and edited the video you are about to watch today. “It was rough going at first,” he said. “All we want to do is to turn Vinny’s ideas into a video, but we didn’t know if he was going to show up.” He and Plainview decided to translate GFP’s music into the visual world.
“Vinny is not on the same wavelength as you and I; he is on a higher sort of plane,” explains Daniel Plainview. “Sometimes we don’t hear from him for months on end. It’s because he’s dreaming up the next big idea - and we don’t want to interfere with that!”
Luckily for everyone, Vinny came through in the end, mugging and improvising for hours in front of a poster-board green screen. Accompanied by his GFP compatriots, Vinny danced a jig, cracked a few jokes, and then proceeded to grace his captive audience with some of his most legendary #psychorock moves, such as the “M. Jagger” and the “Crane Dance.”
Viewer Warning: You will never think of beef and broccoli the same way…
