J.K. Debuts “Identity Crisis” Album, After Starring in HBO Series

Atlanta, Georgia, United States — Tuesday, April 20th, 2021 — J.K. (Jordan Kristine Seamón) released her debut album “Identity Crisis” after returning from Europe where she shot her starring role in acclaimed HBO television series, “We Are Who We Are”. Then, during the Covid quarantine, J.K. announced the companion piece to her last two masterful projects, a self-directed documentary, delving into the creation of the record (with some special guests including Kid Cudi, cast-mates of We Are Who We Are, featured artists on the record and J.K. fans). The multi-hyphenate artist is an acclaimed actor, singer-songwriter, producer, visual artist, author and all-round entrepreneur and “Identity Crisis” is a rich and soulful exploration of psyche and self, seamlessly weaving genres and ideas into a perfect blend of R&B and pop, both timeless and forward-thinking.

The 18 year-old Atlanta-based, Philadelphia-born rising star catapulted into the spotlight for her critically revered breakthrough role in visionary film-maker, Luca Guadagnino’s television drama series ‘We Are Who We Are,’ which was released in September 2020. Her performance as Caitlin Poythress, a teenager navigating romance and sexuality on a military base, has beenpraised by the likes of New York Times, Vogue and the Guardian, and is all the more remarkable for being her acting debut.

Since then, Jordan has also racked up impeccable style credentials, having been tapped for campaigns for the likes of Miu Miu and Bulgari and the Identity Crisis album has blown-up overseas, with music media outlets expressing, “J.K.’s debut record is sublime. It’s an LP that is rich, soulful and unafraid to explore the human psyche.” by 1883 Magazine; “a woman who personifies versatility in the modern day creative.” by Clash and “a perfect blend of R&B and pop which is both timeless and forward-thinking.” by 33 Magazine.

Now, J.K. flexes her considerable music muscle with the astonishing “Identity Crisis”, citing influences such as the iconic Etta James and more recently H.E.R,  Kali Uchis, Daniel Caesar and Jazmin Sullivan. J.K. first established herself as a singer-songwriter with her debut single, “Glo-Up”and a remix feat. High Defynition. Since then, the young polymath has peppered the last couple of years with the release of her “Untitled” mini-EP and three headline tours, all building towards “Identity Crisis”, a strikingly vivid snapshot of young adulthood in flux, which runs the gamut of emotions from loss and regret to the first bloom of love, as illustrated on the euphoric “thnx.”, which is the first track she wrote for the album. J.K. may have had a meteoric 2020 but 2021 is looking even brighter with her new music, new merchandise and new television roles.

A true multi-disciplinary young artist, J.K. drew all of the original cover art for every song on “Identity Crisis” and the album cover art.  She has also co-authored the “Daddy’s Big Secret, Jordan Learns the Truth” children’s book with her father Jermaine. Jordan also serves as the COO of Seamón Enterprises & Entertainment Co, and The Seamón Family Foundation, the family’s non-profit, which is their partnership with the film, music, literary arts, business and community organizations, committed to Social & Financial Investment in Arts & Culture, through youth and parental empowerment.
